STARTING THERAPY
How do I choose a therapist?
Review each therapist’s clients, focus, languages, and format. If you are unsure, contact Calm Mind for brief administrative help choosing a starting point.
What happens in the first session?
You and your therapist discuss what brings you in, relevant history, goals, confidentiality, and what support may look like.
Can I change therapists?
Yes. Fit matters. Speak with your therapist or contact the practice if another clinician may be more suitable.
APPOINTMENTS
Are sessions virtual?
Secure virtual therapy is available across Ontario.
Is in-person therapy available?
Limited in-person appointments may be available in Richmond Hill. Review the therapist profiles and contact the team to confirm current availability.
How long is a session?
Individual, Child & Teen, and Parent Guidance sessions are generally 50 minutes. Couples sessions are generally 60 minutes.
How do I book?
New and existing clients can book through the Zanda Client Portal. New clients: select Register and verify your email. Existing clients: log in. Then select Book an Appointment to choose your therapist, service and an available time. Visit Book a Session for more information.
FEES & INSURANCE
What are the fees?
Individual Therapy: CA$180 for 50 minutes
Couples Therapy: CA$250 for 60 minutes
Child & Teen Therapy: CA$180 for 50 minutes
Parent Guidance: CA$180 for 50 minutes
Will insurance cover therapy?
Coverage depends on your plan. Confirm that services from a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) are eligible before booking.
Are receipts provided?
Yes. Receipts are provided for eligible reimbursement. Calm Mind cannot guarantee insurer reimbursement.
What is the cancellation policy?
Review the current policy in your booking documents or contact the practice before your appointment.
CHILD & TEEN THERAPY
What age range do you support?
The service range is approximately ages 9–16, subject to therapist fit and availability. Sara works with children; Maryam works with teenagers and parents. Read about Child & Teen Therapy.
How are parents involved?
Caregiver involvement is discussed at the beginning and adjusted to age, needs, consent, and safety.
PARENT GUIDANCE
Who attends Parent Guidance?
Parent(s) or caregiver(s) meet with the therapist. Children do not attend.
COUPLES THERAPY
Do both partners attend?
Couples sessions generally include both partners. Any individual check-ins and confidentiality boundaries are explained in advance.
CLIENT PORTAL
Where is the Client Portal?
Open the Zanda Client Portal for forms, receipts and appointment access. If you cannot sign in, contact the practice.
Is this an emergency service?
No. Website forms and email are not monitored as emergency services. Use Crisis & Urgent Support for immediate directions.
